Sephora - Liars who won't live up to the words on their own website.
I was shopping online with Sephora.com which I have done many times before without incident. I hit the button to place my order by mistake without entering the information for the gift card that I wanted to use to pay for it.
Instead it charged to the account listed on my file. I immediately called customer service to cancel so that I could replace it correctly. I read in on the site that I could cancel as long as the order status was still listed as "Placed" and it was. I was on hold for nearly 10 minutes before getting a rep.
She told me that the status had already move to "Sent to Warehouse" and that it was too late to cancel. I informed her that I was looking at my account online at that very moment and the status was still "Placed." I even refreshed it several times while talking to her and it didn't change. She told me that hers said it had already been sent over and she couldn't cancel it. I asked if there was someone else I could speak with because my newly refreshed screen still said "Placed." She said that there wasn't any point because no one could change it now and I would just have to wait until it was sent to me and send it back for a refund.
Not until 5 minutes after our call ended the the status of my order change. I know she was lying to me and am thoroughly disgusted with this behavior. They should be ashamed of themselves.
Now I have a $25 dollar gift card only good for a company I no longer care to deal with. I am not even sure I feel comfortable passing it on to someone else who will have to deal with these cheaters but, I would hate for them to just keep the money they got for the card.
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
Monetary Loss: $37.
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.
